All too often, the face tends to get most of the attention when it comes to anti-aging methods. But aging obviously affects other areas of the skin as well. One area that’s particularly susceptible to the ravages of time is the décolletage (the upper chest around and above the breasts and below the neck). Believe it or not, this area of skin is usually thinner and dryer than the skin of the face, making it especially prone to sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles. At Project Glammers, we offer a great option to rejuvenate your upper chest with our décolletage contouring.
What makes the décolletage so susceptible to skin aging?
Many factors play a role in making the décolletage sensitive to aging. These include:
- Thinner skin
- The weight of the breasts
- Consistent insufficient sun protection
- Rapid weight loss or gain
- Sleeping habits
These and other factors can contribute to a loss of collagen and subsequent firmness of the skin of the décolletage.
How is décolletage contouring with dermal fillers performed?
Our master injectors perform the décolletage contouring treatment by strategically treating the the area using cannula to replace lost volume and help stimulate natural collagen production to strengthen the skin. The most common filler used to rejuvenate the décolletage area contains hyperblended version of Radiesse®, a trusted and time tested injectable well known for its collagen stimulating effects. The product provides instant contouring, while the ensuing collagen production offers continued improvement over the course of the next several weeks. Depending on your anatomy and goals, we may recommend several treatments to help remove décolletage wrinkles and achieve ultimate results as well as to combine the treatment with such modalities as Project GLAMMERS Skin (link here), RF Skin tightening and Project GLAMMERS’ own Medical Grade Skin Care.
Prior to injections, a numbing cream will be applied to minimize any discomfort, which most patients say they don’t feel any pain during their treatment. In most cases, décolletage contouring doesn’t require any downtime and the majority of patients get back to their normal routines once their treatment is complete. We do recommend you avoid any heavy physical activity for the first 24-48 hours, however. You may experience mild bruising, swelling, and/or redness right after injections, but these are temporary and usually go away in a few days.
When will I see results?
Most people enjoy immediate improvement as lost volume and creases are temporarily diminished or eliminated. Optimal results usually take a few days as swelling or redness subside. It’s then that you’ll start to notice a more refreshed appearance on your chest. As an added bonus, the gradual boost in collagen resulting from the hyperblended Radiesse treatment will takes a few weeks to a few months and offer continued improvement over time.
How long do the results last from décolletage contouring with dermal fillers?
Results could last up to 12 months or longer, at which time you have the option of getting a follow up treatment to maintain the décolletage of your dreams.
